E-mail marketing is an easy way to advertise your pizza operation.  It’s quick, inexpensive and most importantly something simple you can do yourself.  Here are a few tips to help ensure a successful e-mail campaign:

  • The first step is to gather your e-mail distribution list.  Advertise e-coupons and upcoming events through an e-newsletter.  Use your website or your checkout space to entice customers to provide their e-mail addresses and permission to send them e-mails.  Make sure you have permission to e-mail the recipients.  Offering e-coupons is a sure way to create interest.
  • When sending out your e-mails, make sure that your subject line clearly identifies you business name as well as the content of your e-mail.
  • Your e-mail should be short and contain a good, well-thought-out message, and contain a good mix of images and text.
  • Make sure you include your contact information in the e-mail so that your customers will be able to contact you.  Only with proper contact information, can you benefit from any extra business your e-mail campaign might attract.
  • Test, test, test.  Segment your list and try mailing different offers, or use different subject lines on different days of the week to determine when you will get the best response.
  • Avoid overuse of punctuation (such as multiple exclamation points) and capitalization (words in all-caps), as this can result in your messages being blocked.
