Stuffed Sausage Pizza
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil (#280390)
  • 1 lb Turkey or Pork Sausage, casings removed (#240000)]
  • 1 Onion, chopped (#340090)
  • 2 small Red or Green Bell Peppers, diced (#351105)
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella Cheese (#170660)
  • 2 Eggs, lightly beaten (#320749)
  • ¼ cup Cayenne Pepper Sauce (#380100)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano Leaves (#450120)
  • 1 lb frozen Bread Dough, thawed at room temperature (#213311)
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese (#190150)
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds (#450330)
  1. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet. Sauté sausage, onion and peppers until meat is no longer pink. Drain. Stir in cheese, eggs, cayenne pepper sauce and oregano; set aside.
  2. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Cut dough in half. Roll half the dough into a 14×10-inch rectangle on lightly floured board. Pat into bottom and 1” up sides of greased 13 x 9 x 2” baking pan. Roll out remaining dough into a 13” x 9” rectangle; keep covered.
  3. Spoon sausage mixture over bottom of dough. Cover with top half of dough. Pinch top and bottom edges of dough to seal. Brush top lightly with milk. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and sesame seeds.
  4. Bake 25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Let stand 10 minutes; cut into squares.
