Sicilian Style Pizza
Ingredients
- Basic Pizza Dough
- 1 large Yellow Onion, finely chopped (#340090)
- 10 Black Olives, pitted and spliced (#330010)
- 6 Anchovy Fillets, finely chopped (#1000091)
- 1 (15 0z) can Tomato Sauce (#402392)
- ½ cup Bread Crumbs, toasted (#110200)
- 1 Tbsp. Dried Oregano (#450120)
- ¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (#280395)
Directions
- In a small frying pan, saute onions for 2 minutes.
- Rub a little oil on a cookie sheet or pizza pan. Gently shape the dough into a round or square shape. Push the pieces of anchovy, olives and onion into the top of the dough. (You can just use the back of a knife to accomplish this.) Spread the tomato sauce over the top. Sprinkle with oregano and breadcrumbs.
- Cover up and let sit for 2 hours to rise into a thicker dough.
- Preheat oven to 425 Degrees. Bake for 30 minutes and drizzle the remaining olive oil over the top before serving.
